Cleaning Your Bong

For the cleaning solution to stay contained within the water, you need to cap the upper and lower openings of your bong. A common method of doing this is with one hand on the upper opening and your thumb on your other hand on the lower opening. Once the openings are sealed, violently shake your bong. By shaking your bong, the salt is supposed to remove the built up tars and resins from it. The harder and longer you shake, the cleaner your bong will become. Be careful though! Plenty of heady glass pipes and bongs have been broken by using a household cleaner like salt and alcohol. That’s why we alwaysrecommend Kryptonite glass and bong cleaner, which never requires you to shake whatever you are cleaning! It should also be noted that if you’re using salt and alcohol to clean an acrylic bong, it scratch your bong! This is because the plastic is soft and the salt is an abrasive (similar to sandpaper). In commercial products like Formula 420 cleaner, which is 97 proof alcohol, salt and they also add the legal limit of D-Limonene, which in most states is 3%. While salt shifts limescale, rinse aid basically makes sure no water is left behind on your dishes and glassware. Any leftover water can leave marks, but rinse aid prevents this by stopping water droplets from ‘sticking’ to your crockery.

Where do I put dishwasher rinse aid?

You’ll usually find the compartment for rinse aid in the door of the machine, near to where you add your tablets. Slowly pour in the rinse aid until the compartment is full. And that’s it. Your machine will do the rest of the work, controlling how much rinse aid it adds to the wash depending on the cycle.

How Often to Clean Your Drains

Weekly, flush drains with boiling water mixed with liquid grease-fighting dish soap, such as Dawn. Clean your drain with baking soda as soon as you notice the water is draining slowly. You can also use this process as a regular maintenance method for your drains. For example, if you keep a box of open baking soda in your refrigerator to absorb odors, use the old baking soda to flush your kitchen drain when it comes time to change the box.

How To Clean A Salt Block?

Although you have many options, we recommend using an ordinary sponge for this process.

1-   Allow the plate to cool. It will take almost 3 hours.

2-   Do not place the block under the tap water. It will dissolve into wet powder. Take a sponge and dip it in a bowl of water. When you wring it, the water will run down the darkened, charred surface and moisten it.

3-   Use the green side of the sponge and rub it on the cracks and surface.

4-   Keep in mind that the block is antimicrobial. It is equally contributing to the removal of the grime. When you’re done, use the softer side to wipe off any remaining particles.

5-   After you’re finished, pat dry immediately.

A Word of Caution About Cleaners Containing Alcohol

Have you ever seen a blue flash after you’ve cleaned your bong? Many individuals using alcohol-based cleaning solutions see this during their first hit? This blue flame is the leftover alcohol from the cleaning solution igniting when a flame is placed to your bong. This can be very dangerous, especially if you haven’t thoroughly rinsed your glass after using alcohol-based solutions! The entire line of Klear Kryptonite cannabis accessory cleaners are clay-based and will never ignite as they are all non-flammable!

How to Use Salt to Clean Your Home

Next, we’ll take a look at some of the many ways to use salt to clean your home:

  • Use salt to clean your home by removing the mess that comes from burns or spills from pans, pans, pots, oven, and burners. To do this, apply a good amount of salt and remove it with paper towels.
  • Remove wine stains from fabric. Apply a generous amount around the area and dry it with upward movements.Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse off the piece of clothing. If it’s on a rug, scrub it with salt and then vacuum it.
  • Use salt to clean and deodorize your refrigerator. Apply salt and seltzer water to the door and inside for a few minutes before defrosting or cleaning it.

  • Remove rust stains from fabric by mixing a little bit of salt with lemon juice, wetting it well. Then, let it dry in the sun. Afterwards, wash as usual.
  • Erase white circles on wooden furniture that come from a vase or anything wet. Apply a layer of oil and salt to the stain, massage it in, let sit for an hour, and then remove it.
  • Remove grease from iron kitchen utensils. Sprinkle a little bit of salt on top of them and let it sit. Remove any extra and wash it as always. You can use the same technique to remove dark marks of coffee and tea on cups.
  • Reduce bad odor on plastic or glass jars and bottles (especially plastic ones).Add a tablespoon of salt on the inside of the container and leave it for a few minutes. Rinse it normally with detergent or a cleaning product.
  • Use salt to clean bathtub and sink stains by making a mixture of turpentine and salt. Apply it to the surfaces and let sit for 15 minutes. As a result, that ugly yellow color will go away. Then, wipe it with a wet sponge to remove anything extra.

How to Clean a Clogged Drain With Salt and Baking Soda

If the baking soda and vinegar method doesn't unclog the drain, use the salt and baking soda method next. This works best if you do it right before bedtime since the drain won't be used until morning.

  1. Pour Baking Soda Into the Drain

Pour one cup of baking soda into the clogged drain.

  2. Pour Salt Into the Drain

Follow the baking soda with 1/2 cup of salt poured into the drain. Let this mixture sit in the drain for several hours—overnight is best.

  3. Flush With Boiling Water

In the morning, heat two cups of water to a boil, then pour this hot water into the drain.

  4. Flush With Tap Water

If the drain begins to drain, continue to flush with hot tap water. If not, you may need to repeat the process or try the baking soda and vinegar method.

If neither baking soda method opens the drain, it is likely you’ll need to disassemble the drain trap to clear the clog.
