How to Re-Download Previous Apps Using iTunes

You can also download previous app purchases using iTunes. Here’s what to do:

The App Store was removed from iTunes in version 12.7, released in 2017. These instructions only apply to versions of iTunes earlier than that. If you’re running a newer version of iTunes, or if you’re using Apple Music, your only option for re-downloading apps is to do it on the iPhone.

  1. Open iTunes and click the Apps icon in the top left corner, just underneath the playback controls (it looks like an A).

  2. Choose App Store just beneath the playback window at the top center of the screen.

  3. Click Purchased in the Quick Links section at the right.

  4. This screen lists every app you've ever downloaded or purchased for any iOS device using this Apple ID. Browse the screen or search for the app using the search bar on the left.

  5. When you find the app you want, click the download icon (the cloud with the down arrow). If asked, sign in with your Apple ID.

  6. When the app finishes downloading to your computer, sync your iPhone with iTunes to install the app on your phone.

Google Play Protect

One of the most important things to consider before downloading any apps on Android is security. Like a computer, an infected smartphone can cause performance issues and privacy breaches and even cause you to lose your data.

In response to some high-profile security incidents, which included malicious apps in the Play Store, Google rolled out Play Protect, which regularly scans your device for malware. By default, this setting is on, but you can also run a manual scan if you want.

  1. Go to Settings > Security > Google Play Protect.

  2. Tap Scan.

  3. Here, you can also see recently checked apps and the time of the last scan.

Google Play Protect also checks apps in the Play Store before you download them.

Why do I have to redownload apps on my iPhone?

A cloud next to an icon means you enabled offloaded apps and this app was deleted, but the data was saved and you can re-download the app by tapping on it. To change this behaviour, go to Settings -> iTunes & App Store and change the switch for Offload unused apps .

Do you have to buy an app again if you deleted it?

You can uninstall apps you’ve installed on your phone. If you remove an app you paid for, you can reinstall it later without buying it again.

Redownload apps purchased on Mac

3) To redownload an app, click the cloud arrow symbol for the app. If you change your mind, you can stop the download in progress by clicking the square icon.

The Galaxy Store

Samsung users have an alternative to the Google Play Store called the Galaxy Store. When you don’t want to use the Google Play Store, you can access the Galaxy Store and download your favorite apps without having to install an .APK.

To download the apps, simply locate the one that you want and tap the download icon. Then, you will find the application in your app drawer.

Android users can also access apps from Amazon’s store, either in a desktop web browser or the Amazon AppStore app. The apps sold here are sometimes cheaper compared to Google Play or even free. 1. On your phone, open the Amazon Appstore.

  2. Search or browse for the app you want.

  3. Tap Get or the button with the price for a paid app.

  4. Then tap Download on the next page.
